The Greenland Football Union (KAK) and Air Greenland have entered into a three-year agreement. Even if it is the national team that is granted funds, the agreement will have an impact on footballers on the coast, writes KAK.
KAK and Air Greenland has signed a three-year agreement worth three million kroner, which will apply from 1 June until the end of 2029.
According to the content of the agreement, elite soccer players in futsal and outdoor soccer in the junior ranks and the women’s and men’s national teams meet for training sessions and could travel to other countries to play international matches.

The deal is not just for the elite
The agreement gives KAK financial benefits, and the three million kroner that KAK will save according to the agreement will be used to develop the game of football in Greenland.
– This means that the money that would otherwise go to other purposes will go to the development of football and futsal in this country through the clubs’ initiatives, writes Kenneth Kleist in the press release.
The partnership agreement not only improves the possibilities for the national team’s meetings.
– With the partnership, we contribute concretely by making it easier for the national teams to get together, while the sporting development takes place in KAK and in the club environments, writes Jacob Nitter Sørensen.
