He Council of the Judiciary officially announced an agreement reached with the Treasury and Economy to implement a salary indexation aimed at judges and judicial servants. This increase represents the adjustment that the sector has received since 2017.
The council maintains that the pact is the result of a technical dialogue sustained between both institutions since July of last year, under the framework of the Future Justice Plan 2034, and was possible thanks to the allocation of funds agreed with the Government after more than a year of conversations.
In this sense, a general increase of 30% was announced for judges and administrative positions, distributed by 20% in 2026 and 10% in 2027. Meanwhile, for jurisdictional support personnel (secretaries, assistant lawyers and clerks), higher adjustments are contemplated, between 35% and 50% depending on the position and instance, which will be applied in a phased manner in 2026 and 2027.
The announcement was made during a meeting with a broad representation of judges and judicial servants, in which the council also presented a set of decisions aimed at strengthening the justice system. At the meeting, progress was also presented in the payment of substitutes, judicial mobility, appointment of interim positions and territorial governance.

The meeting, headed by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Council of the Judiciary, Henry Molina, had the participation of all members of the Council of the Judiciary.
Likewise, a representation of two judges from each instance attended, two delegates from each association of judges, two representatives of the signatories of the communication of May 8, 2026 and two representatives of judicial servants, guaranteeing gender equity and plurality of voices.
The council listened directly to their concerns and proposals, and recognized the value of the proposals received as input to strengthen the institution.
He also instructed to immediately complete the payment of compensation for replacement judges, retroactively to the month of May in applicable cases.
121 proposals for promotions and transfers of judges were approved, in accordance with Law no. 327-98 on the Judicial Career and the council decided to continue with the pending phases of the position provision process, including the evaluation of positions for justices of the Peace, and to send the proposal for the 2024 Judicial Position Provision process to the Plenary Session of the Supreme Court of Justice, once the reconsiderations have been resolved.

144 personnel actions were approved: 119 jurisdictional and 25 administrative to fill vacancies in courts.
The council also ordered the immediate setting and without evaluation of the probationary period of interim judicial servants with six months or more seniority. Those who are less than six months old may be appointed after a satisfactory evaluation.
Territorial governance
Within the framework of the Future Justice Plan 2034, the council approved the creation of the Territorial and Participatory Governance Strategy as a permanent mechanism of the Judiciary. The departmental and district tables will be established within a period of no more than fifteen days to identify and follow up on the priority needs of each territory.
In the coming days and weeks, the council will proceed with the administrative processing of substitution payments; will communicate proposals for promotions and transfers; will constitute the departmental and district tables; will execute the actions to establish interim servers; and will present, within a period of ninety days, the adjustments to the Budget Plan, POA and PACC with the findings of the territorial portfolio of prioritized initiatives.
Finally, the Council of the Judiciary reiterated its willingness to maintain permanent channels of dialogue with judges and judicial servants, as well as to move forward jointly in strengthening the justice system.
