He Dominican College of Bioanalysts (Codobio), next to the National Pensioners Association and Retired Bioanalysts (Anpejubio), denounced this Thursday the precariousness faced by the sector and demanded to be received by the president Luis Abinader to present their demands.
The president of Codobio, Rita Solisexplained that the union has been requesting a meeting with the president for some time without receiving a response.
“We are here today because we have received absolutely nothing, even though we have requested that the resident of the Republic receive us,” he expressed.

The union leader pointed out that The sector is going through a crisis due to lack of personnel in public hospitals, a situation that, according to him, is directly affecting the health of professionals.
“Hospitals have a shortage of bioanalysts. Even bioanalysts are getting sick,” he said.
The union assured that the current conditions “are detrimental to laboratory professionals” and warned that they will continue to demand answers from the authorities.
Likewise, they demand the delivery of pensions with the incentives that they have worked on over the years, stating that their delivery should be automatic.

“It is not possible for us to beg for a 100% pension. An incentive, not a gift. They are incentives that we have worked on. And what we want is for them to give it to us. A time of service that comes from years and years and years. It’s sad how those professionals come here with their little letters, where that should be automatic. Where pensions should be automatic,” denounced Solís.
Among the main demands are pending appointments, salary improvements, 100% pensions with incentiveshousing plan for active, pensioners and retirees, recognition of those who perform functions as managers and validation of length of service for seniority and benefits purposes.
Likewise, they assured that if they do not manage to dialogue with President Luis Abinader, the union assured that they will continue with the demonstrations and They will go to the streets to march towards the National Palace.
