Serbian athlete Ivana Španović achieved victory in the triple jump discipline at the Slovenian Championship held in Maribor, confirming her good form ahead of the next performances.
Španović performed out of competition, and she reached her best result already in the first series when she jumped 13.49 meters with a wind of +3.3 meters per second. During the competition, she achieved jumps of 13.24, 13.01 and 13.30 meters.
She ended one attempt with a foul, while she skipped the last, sixth series.
Her coach Goran Obradović pointed out that the performance in Maribor served as an excellent test before the next big challenge.
“This was a great training session for the Hanžeković memorial in Zagreb next Friday. We will stay in Slovenia for short preparations until we leave for Croatia,” said Obradović.
Natalija Dragojević also performed outside the competition at the championship, achieving a result of 13.08 meters. The title of champion of Slovenia was won by Taja Pučko with a personal record of 12.86 meters.
