Last weekend was accompanied by panic and tension in the capital, as three of the most frequented shopping centers in the country, Toptani Shopping Center, QTU and TEG, received alarms about the placement of bombs, forcing the authorities to intervene immediately and evacuate the citizens.
The events were recorded on Saturday and Sunday, where through electronic notifications, by email, the evacuation of the premises was requested and detailed checks were carried out by the genderie forces. After verification, it turned out that the alarms were false, but the impact on citizens and businesses was significant.
Meanwhile, new details regarding these incidents have been revealed today. Shqip.com learns that the threats were sent through the same email to the administrations of the three shopping centers. (email protected) is the email the bomb threat came from. The message contained strong threatening tones, where it was written: “It’s the last hour, we will kill you” or that “Tonight at 21:30 we will kill children and Albanians”, “We have placed and carefully hidden 4 kg of explosives with detonators”, causing panic. At the end of the email, the threat writes; “Allahu Akbar”, an Islamic religious phrase used in a threatening context, while he accompanied the email with a photo of a rifle.

Authorities have launched investigations to identify the sender of the email, while work is underway to trace the email address and the origin of the message. It is suspected to be a coordinated false alarm, but the possibility of a deliberate act to create public uncertainty is not excluded either.
The State Police has called for calm, assuring citizens that there was no real danger, while warning that the perpetrators of these actions will face legal consequences.
