The Government is working on the arrival of a couple of families in coordination with the Pro Palestina collective and the Farnesina
From San Marino information – Foreign policy and reception, the Secretary Luca Beccari illustrated an intense diplomatic agenda to the Foreign Affairs Committee on Thursday. Among the new features is the strengthening of bilateral relations with Singapore, started through telephone conversations with the respective Foreign Minister and intended to continue with face-to-face meetings in New York and an exchange of visits.
San Marino will also be a protagonist at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, participating in the ministerial meeting of the Global Alliance for the implementation of the two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian question, at the summit of the small states of Europe and at the tripartite meeting with Monaco and Andorra. Titan’s support for the second International Conference for the Return of Children to Ukraine, scheduled for 28 and 29 September in Toronto, was also confirmed.
Regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, a topic requested by Rete’s advisor Matteo Zeppa, Beccari reiterated San Marino’s willingness to welcome other Palestinian refugees. The Government is working on the arrival of a couple of families in coordination with the Pro Palestina collective and the Farnesina, specifying however that the main obstacle remains the complex management of authorizations for leaving the Palestinian territories controlled by Israel.
International instability has reignited the debate on geopolitical formation. Nicola Renzi (RF) underlined the very strong need for training not only for officials and diplomats, but also for the political class, in the face of the rapid change in global diplomatic balances and languages. The proposal was welcomed favorably by Beccari, who hypothesized the organization of training meetings with experts of different sensitivities aimed at councilors and public managers. For his part, Fabio Righi (D-ML) asked to combine the foreign vision with the creation of internal structures capable of processing data and scenario analysis to support the country’s strategic decisions.
