“Are you sure that we didn’t win?” Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the “Strong Armenia” bloc, said in a briefing with journalists in the court yard. He mentioned: “Pashinyan did not win either. We didn’t win either, he didn’t win either, more than 700 thousand people were not enough to win him. Armenia needs a legitimate government, it did not provide it, now it is a fake government. The elections are completely defeated and rigged, and they do not hold elections under terror. All our regional coordinators have been arrested, 780 people have been arrested.”
Samvel Karapetyan said that today appealed to the CEC, then they will apply to the Constitutional Court with two demands, the first is to cancel the results of the elections, and the second is to appoint a second round. “If he is confident that he won, it would be more correct to have a second round, we will decide whether they won or not. If he is sure that he has won after so many illegalities, let’s go to the second round. Pashinyan did not win the elections, they know it, we know it, maybe the whole world sees it. Based on that, steps will be taken, we suggest going to the second stage.”
According to him, if the CEC and CC reject their applications, there will be an illegitimate government in Armenia. “Our issue is not the parliament, our issue is to remove Pashinyan, because he has turned this country into a duchy, they do whatever they want.”
Turning to the question of why there is no street fight, Samvel Karapetyan answered: “The public reconciles at first, reconciles, then does not reconcile. Now it is the hla process that is peace. They will think for a while, they will understand that they were deceived again, then there will be no reconciliation.”
To the question, if they go to the parliament, doesn’t it mean that they legitimize the rigged elections, Samvel Karapetyan answered: “If we find that we will remove Pashinyan faster through the parliament, then we will go to the parliament, if we find that we can remove him through the street struggle you mentioned, then we will remove him through the street struggle.”
To the question that their forces are accused of handing out electoral bribes, Karapetyan answered: “Well, they accuse, but yesterday 45 people were released again, that is, they could not prove the election bribery.”
“I will never form an illegitimate government, and he knows better than anyone that if he forms a government now, it will be illegitimate and will bring great problems to our country,” he said.
Samvel Karapetyan added: “We were definitely winning in Yerevan, what they did, they did in Yerevan. We have not repeated anyone’s mistakes. If we made a mistake, we would not have collected 350 thousand votes in four months. In other words, we did everything right, Pashinyan made a mistake: he stole votes, terrorized during the election. We saw what we were saying and we were going to achieve it. But I repeat: we didn’t win, Pashinyan didn’t win either, the Armenian people lost, that’s why we will appeal to the Supreme Court to make the right decision.”
Samvel Karapetyan also said that he did not meet with the other opposition forces, Robert Kocharyan and Gagik Tsarukyan.
