The delegation was received by Thai Consul General Wiraka Moodhitaporn.
On behalf of the municipal administration, Diem extended the deepest condolences to the consul general, consulate staff, the Thai Royal Family, and the people of Thailand on the passing of Princess Bajrakitiyabha.
In the condolence book, he wrote: “With profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha of Thailand. On behalf of the government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, I extend my deepest condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand.”

Consul General Wiraka expressed appreciation for the sympathy and support shown by Ho Chi Minh City authorities and residents to the Thai Royal Family and the people of Thailand during this difficult time.
She also thanked city leaders for visiting the consulate, signing the condolence book, and sharing in the grief of the Thai people.
Earlier, the Thai Consulate General in the city informed the Department of Foreign Affairs through a diplomatic note that Princess Bajrakitiyabha passed away at 7:48 pm on June 11 at the age of 47.

According to the consulate, her death is a major loss for the Thai people.
During the mourning period, a condolence book has been opened to honor the princess’s memory and recognize her contributions.
Ho Chi Minh City leaders and representatives of local agencies and organizations were invited to pay their respects and sign the book.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha was born on December 7, 1978 and was the eldest child of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, also known as Rama X.

According to Reuters, she earned a doctorate in law and worked as an attorney at Thailand’s Office of the Attorney General from 2006 to 2011 before embarking on a diplomatic career.
She served as Thailand’s ambassador to Austria, Slovenia and Slovakia from 2012 to 2014.
She was also Thailand’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna.
The princess was widely recognized for promoting women’s rights, improving living conditions for female inmates, and working with the United Nations on justice and rule-of-law initiatives.
