María Paula Torres and Nicole Aragonés made history in Santa Fe 2026 by achieving the first victory for Peruvian padel in a competition corresponding to the Olympic cycle.
The Peruvians beat the Bolivians Micaela Meneses and Michelle Doria 6-1 and 6-3, recovering after their initial defeat against Chile in the competition.
Torres and Aragonés showed confidence during the 50 minutes of the game. They controlled both sets and took advantage of their opportunities to prevail with authority against the Bolivian duo.
The Peruvian couple also stood out statistically, as they won 31 points with the first serve and achieved 31 points through the return, clearly surpassing their rivals.
Now, the national team will face Venezuela this Wednesday, September 23, starting at 8:00 am. The victory could bring them closer to winning a medal.
