On April 23, within the framework of the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, in front of the RA Embassy, near the “Immortal Armenia” monument, the leader of the Canadian Armenian Diocese, Fr. Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan presided over a commemoration ceremony in memory of 1915-1923. 1.5 million canonized martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held.
Spiritual fathers of Armenian Apostolic and Catholic churches, representatives of Hnchakyan, Ramkavar liberal parties, Tekeyan Center, Istanbul Armenian Union, as well as other members of the Canadian Armenian community were also present at the events.
On the same day, a candlelight procession with torches was held to the “Immortal Armenia” monument.
Reverend Fr., spiritual pastor of St. Mesrop Armenian Apostolic Church of Ottawa Priest Davit Margaryan read a memorial prayer.
Many commemorations have been and will be held in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and other Canadian cities.
