The health centers spread throughout Tafila Governorate serve as the first line of defense and the protective wall of the medical and supervisory system in the governorate. These medical incubators constitute the main cornerstone for relieving the burden on Tafila Governmental Hospital and Prince Zeid Military Hospital, which are distinguished by their medical services, and providing primary and comprehensive health care services to citizens in the province and the outskirts with flexibility and high efficiency, translating national trends aimed at institutionalizing medical services, breaking their centralization, and providing decent treatment to the citizen in his place of residence.
The health map in the governorate is distributed across an integrated system that includes about 24 health centers, which are classified as comprehensive health centers that operate around the clock and include specialty clinics and advanced laboratories such as the Tafila Comprehensive Health Center and the Basira and Al-Qadisiyah centers, and primary health centers that provide general medicine, maternity, childhood, and dental services, in addition to sub-centers in remote villages to ensure that care, preventive doses, and national vaccinations reach all societal groups without difficulty.
Citizen Ahmed Al-Hajjaj, a resident of the Al-Eis area, confirmed that the health centers, especially the comprehensive ones, have brought about a qualitative shift in the details of their daily lives through the regular availability of medications for chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and the speed of conducting basic laboratory tests, which saved the people the costs of transportation and the pressure on Tafila Governmental Hospital and Prince Zeid Military Hospital, praising the good treatment of the nursing and technical staff who work in a team spirit to serve the people of the local community.
Citizen Maryam Al-Musaidi, from the Busira District, stated that the maternity, childhood, and family planning clinics attached to the Busira Comprehensive Health Center provide distinguished preventive care for mothers and newborns, pointing out that the efficiency of the national vaccination program and the awareness-raising role led by nurses and midwives in summer health education and disease prevention have contributed to raising the level of health awareness among the women’s sector in areas far from the city center, which consolidates confidence and institutionalism in this sector.
The director of a health center in Tafila, who preferred not to mention his name, pointed out that the success in providing service in health centers is due to the flexibility of internal emergency plans and the use of electronic connectivity, which contributed to controlling the disbursement process and ensuring justice, and good coordination with the health sector administration in the directorate and working within the spirit of one team in the health sector in the governorate. He stressed that medical personnel are making redoubled efforts to confront and overcome any emergency challenges in cooperation with the administration of the directorate and the ministry, which pay attention to any request of any center with focused attention, support, and responsible response.
The Director of Health Affairs for Tafila Governorate, Dr. Hossam Al-Rufu, confirmed that the directorate places the development and rehabilitation of the infrastructure of health centers at the top of its executive priorities, in implementation of the National Strategy of the Ministry of Health and the vision of economic modernization, indicating that these centers have succeeded in being the medical safety valve for the governorate thanks to their continuous supply of modern medical devices, stressing that the ultimate goal always remains to enhance health security through production, self-reliance, and providing a medical service worthy of the Hashemite people of Tafila.
