Albanian and Kosovar football have been shocked by the news of the death of footballer Fatjon Bunjaku.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who was part of AF Elbasan, lost his life after a serious car accident on the Pristina-Mitrovica axis, leaving behind a promising career that was tragically cut short at its peak.
Bunjaku joined Elbasan in the summer of 2025 and was considered one of the promising approaches of the yellow and blue team. Before arriving in Albania, he had built his career mainly in Kosovar football.
During the last years, the 22-year-old wore the jerseys of KF Trepça, Liria, Gjilan and Malisheva, gaining experience at the highest levels of football in Kosovo.
In Albanian football, Bunjaku played a total of 31 matches and scored 3 goals, contributing to the elite championship.
The Kosovar talent was also part of the representatives of the age groups of Kosovo. He recorded 3 appearances with the U19 national team and 4 appearances with Kosovo U21.
