The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje opened an investigation against two brothers aged 43 and 44 on suspicion that they committed attempted murder as co-perpetrators, after they shot at a man and hit him in the head near a parking lot near the village of Šishevo, while putting two others in danger.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the reason for the incident was a previous traffic contact when two vehicles passed, when the mirrors touched and a verbal argument arose between the brother of the victim and the first suspect. In that argument, the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck and threatened him, but witnesses calmed down the situation.
Later, the injured party picked up his wife from work and called his brother to check if they could safely return by the same route. The prosecution claims that near the site of the first incident, the two suspected brothers were waiting for them hidden in bushes and armed with guns.
“The first suspect fired two bullets, hitting the brother of the initially attacked in the head, causing him a tangential injury, and also threatened the other two people,” states the Prosecutor’s Office.
The public prosecutor issued an Order for the implementation of an investigative procedure for the crime of murder according to Article 123 paragraph 2 point 3 in connection with Article 19 (in an attempt) and submitted to the judge of the preliminary procedure a proposal for the determination of a detention measure for the two suspects.
As reasons for detention, the Prosecutor’s Office cites the danger of escape, the possibility of influencing witnesses and the fear that the suspects could complete the attempted crime.
