“Remondis Madison”, the company for which the former director of the Customs Administration, Stefan Bogoev, is suspected of having participated in the rigging of the tender procedure, concluded public procurement contracts with the new management, announced Thelma TV.
This year, one of the contracts of this Bitola company, which has the highest value of all the others, is with the Customs Administration.
It is a tender for internal hygiene maintenance of the administration’s business facilities, and the contract worth about 420 thousand euros was signed by Bogoev’s successor in office, Boban Nikolovski.
But this, as stated, is not the only agreement signed by Nikolovski. And in January 2025, “Remondis Madison” was hired by the Customs Administration for internal hygiene maintenance and garbage removal at the common border crossing Belanovce Stancic, for about 8000 euros.
The basic public prosecutor’s office for prosecuting organized crime and corruption initiated an investigation and proposed detention against four, including the former director of the Customs Administration. Among the persons included in the investigation are the ex-assistant director of Customs, the manager of a legal entity and an employee of the same entity.
“According to the evidence provided, the first suspect, using his official position and influence as director of the Customs Administration, influenced the implementation of the tender procedure in favor of the selected bidder, while the second suspect, in his capacity as assistant director, influenced other economic operators not to participate in the final stage of the procedure,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
Stefan Bogoev is accused of receiving a reward of around 1800 euros. The criminal court sentenced Bogoev to 30 days of detention as part of the investigation into the rigging of a tender worth more than 300 thousand euros, which was won by the company “Remondis Madison” for the external maintenance of hygiene at border crossings and terminals.
