DZERZHINSK DISTRICT, 25 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have established a high level of cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, Leonid Zayats, Chairman of the Regional Policy and Local Self-Government Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, said at the session “High-performance agribusiness sector: conditions and opportunities at the current stage” of the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.
Leonid Zayats emphasized the need to develop unified approaches to solving shared problems, implementing joint projects, and combining scientific potential in the agricultural sector. Following last year’s Forum of Regions, held in Nizhny Novgorod, a number of documents were signed, including four cooperation agreements.
“An important result of cooperation has been the development of the draft Union State program Baby Food for 2026-2030, as well as the expansion and growth of trade by 1.3 times and an increase in exports by 1.5 times across the entire range of food supplies. Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have established cooperation in the development and implementation of milking robots, cattle feeding technologies, seed selection, and more,” he said.
Partnership in agricultural science and education continues. Practical training for specialists from processing enterprises in organoleptics has been organized by the Gorbatov Federal Research Center for Food Systems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, hosted at the Meat and Dairy Industry Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Joint activities with the Florentyev Nizhny Novgorod State Agricultural Academy include participation in scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and lectures, including for university students.
Today’s session agenda includes issues of cooperation between enterprises of the agro-industrial complexes of both countries, meetings of heads of agricultural and processing enterprises, unions and associations with scientific institutions, development agencies, and parliamentarians. Discussions cover interregional industrial cooperation, agricultural business operations, scientific support for industrial complexes, innovation implementation, and workforce development.
