The Shura Council demands controls on age verification and restrictions on the use of social media platforms
Yesterday, Monday, the Shura Council held its thirty-ninth regular session of the work of the second year of the ninth session, headed by His Excellency the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr. Mishal bin Fahm Al-Sulami.
At the beginning of the session, the Council reviewed the agenda of its thirty-ninth regular session, and the items contained therein, and took the necessary decisions regarding them.
The Council issued a resolution calling on the National Institute for Educational Professional Development to enhance professional development opportunities based on professional practices, and to measure the impact of their sustainability within educational environments.
The Shura Council also issued another decision during the session in which it called on the Communications, Space and Technology Commission to establish controls for age verification and restrictions on the use of social media platforms. For those under the age of (16) years.
The Council also issued a decision during this session regarding the contents of the annual report of the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Fatwa for the fiscal year 1446/1447 AH, in which it requested the Presidency to develop operational performance indicators to measure the performance of the work of the Presidency’s branches, their initiatives, and the services provided to beneficiaries.
Among the decisions listed on the agenda of this session, the Council issued a decision in which it requested the Decision Support Center to harmonize the strategic plan of the academy that the Center is working to establish. To ensure that its programs cover the needs of the beneficiaries; According to the centre’s competencies.
In addition, during the session, the Council discussed the annual report of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for the fiscal year 1446/1447 AH, after listening to a report submitted by the Hajj, Housing and Services Committee, followed by Council member and Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Attiya Al-Atwi, regarding what was included in the Ministry’s annual report.
After putting the committee’s report up for discussion, the council members expressed a number of observations and opinions regarding what was included in the annual report of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
