With a focus on reaching women entrepreneurs who are youth-led, rural-based,indigenous-owned or women with disabilities, Generating Resilient and Inclusive Trade (GRIT) officially launched its Caribbean Women Generating Resilient and Inclusive Trade Project here in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) on Monday, April 27, 2026.
GRIT is a four-year (2025-2028) initiative funded by Global Affairs Canada, and implemented by the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export.
Designed to increase the productivity, competitiveness, and export readiness of women-led businesses across the Caribbean, Caribbean Export, with the support of Invest SVG,hosted a number of female Vincentian entrepreneurs from April 27 to April 29, 2026, in a series of workshops, stakeholder engagements and enterprise visits.
The new Executive Director of Invest SVG, Anna Young, in her welcome remarks, expressed that it was more than just a launch.
She said, it was a statement of being serious about building the economy, that is inclusive, resilient and globally competitive, and recognising women entrepreneurs as central to that vision.
She pointed out that across St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), women are already leading in business, in innovation and in community development.
This initiative, she explained, is about ensuring that they have the tools, access, and support to scale that impact beyond these borders.
