
The Governor of Badakhshan Maulvi Muhammad Ismail Ghaznavi told Bakhtar News Agency at the opening ceremony that the project was implemented with the financial support of a businessman Haji Abdul Karim Zahid at the cost of one million US dollars.
According to him, 20 kilometers of road from “Laiba” area of Faizabad city to “Doaba Iftal Bala” has been covered with gravel.
Ghaznavi added that during the said project, along with widening and clearing the road, several bridges, culverts, retaining and gabion walls and water transfer canals were also built, and the works were completed in four months.
According to him, with the construction of this road, the eighth district of Faizabad city, surrounding remote areas and Kohistan Ragh district will be connected with the provincial capital and important facilities will be created in terms of people’s movement, trade and transportation.
The governor of Badakhshan praised the cooperation of businessmen and well-wishers in the implementation of basic projects and said that the regional administration will continue to support the implementation of such development projects in the future.
He also said that a six-member committee has been appointed for the maintenance and monitoring of the road.
At the same time, the residents of the Yaftal Bala area expressed their happiness over the completion of the said project and said that in the past they were facing many problems while traveling to Faizabad city, but with the construction of this road, their travel problems will be solved to a large extent.
