The Court of Courts of Andorra today sentenced the young Andorran accused of qualified robbery with use of weaponattempted burglary, attempted aggravated burglary and possession and consumption of toxic drugs to a four-year prison term. The ruling has established that two years of the sentence will have to be served firmlywhile the other two remain conditionally suspended. In addition to the prison sentence, the court has imposed on the accused a fine of 1,000 eurosthe payment of procedural costs and the obligation to indemnify the community ofEncamp with more than 600 euros for the moral damages resulting from the events.
During the trial, the Prosecutor’s Office had requested six and a half years of firm imprisonment for the person prosecuted for the events that occurred on August 23, 2025 a Encamp. According to what was proven at the oral hearing, the young man took part in several incidents while under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.
The resolution considers proven that the defendant caused damage to the parish tourism office and that later accessed the garden of a house. Later, he entered a hotel d‘Encamp armed with a hammer and demanded money from the cash register, taking away near 900 euros. Two days after the events, the young man he was identified by the police and ended up confessing his involvement. During the hearing, he fully acknowledged the facts and attributed his actions to a depressive and impulsive episode related to drug use.
For his part, the hotel receptionist testified before the court that he feared for his physical integrity during the robbery and thatincident had caused him psychological consequences which affected their sense of safety in the workplace. With this sentence, the Court of Courts significantly lowers the initial request made by the prosecutor’s office, despite considering the criminal responsibility of the accused in the various crimes for which he had been prosecuted proven.
