Actress Jane Fonda was one of the most noticed ladies at this year’s Cannes Festival, and many noticed that at the age of 88, she looks extremely vital and well-groomed.
The secret of her appearance, as she herself points out, is not in miraculous tricks, but in long-term habits when it comes to nutrition, health and lifestyle.
Fonda has been consistently applying the principles of healthy eating and moderation for decades, and she considers these habits the key to her energy and vitality.
He rejects fast food
Back in 2012, Jane Fonda pointed out in a video for BeFiT that fast diets should be avoided, because they offer short-term and often unhealthy solutions.
“Fast diets are those that promise unrealistic results. You shouldn’t try to lose more than 1 to 2 kilograms per week,” she said at the time.
She emphasizes that it is much more important to focus on health than on the diet itself and quick results.
He never skips breakfast
According to her, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and crucial for a good start to the day.
“Start the day with a nutritious breakfast. People who do this maintain weight more easily,” says Fonda.
Research also shows that skipping breakfast can slow down your metabolism and increase feelings of hunger during the day.
It is not strict and strives for balance
Over the years, Fonda has learned that a balanced diet is more important than strict rules.
She believes that excessive restriction leads to frustration and giving up.
“You don’t want to feel deprived. If you eat a piece of chocolate, that’s fine — just don’t eat the whole bar. And then the next day you can go for a longer walk,” she explains, reports B92.
He doesn’t eat much meat
Jane Fonda bases her diet on fruits and vegetables, and has reduced her intake of meat and fish to a minimum.
“I eat fresh fruits and vegetables every day. I hardly eat meat and I have significantly reduced my intake of fish,” says the actress.
According to her, this way of eating, along with moderation and consistency, helps her stay energetic and vital.
