Five applications were received for the competition for the director of the Customs Administration, it was confirmed unofficially to the portal Dan.
According to the latest data available online, four out of five candidates are employed in the Customs Administration.
The current acting director of the Customs Administration, Maja Vučinić, as well as the head of the branch Siniša Raičević, among others, applied for the competition. He also applied for the competition held in 2023 and was ranked first, but Vladimir Bulajić was chosen as the director of the Customs Administration at that time.
The application was also sent by the head of the Customs Administration, Miroslav Raonić, as well as the independent customs inspector for internal control, Gojko Kalezić, and the fifth applicant was Predrag Radovanović, about whom there is no information on the Internet.
The current incumbent Maja Vučinić participated in the work of four negotiation working groups for the accession of Montenegro to the EU, namely Chapter 29 – Customs Union, Chapter 18 – Statistics, Chapter 30 – External Relations and Chapter 1 – Free Movement of Goods, as well as the Subcommittee for Trade, Industry, Customs, Taxation and Cooperation with Other Candidate Countries.
During the mandate of Vučinić, confiscated tobacco was destroyed, which, as the government stated at the time, avoided damage of almost 200 million euros.
Vučinić was chosen by the current Government as acting director of the Customs Administration several times. She worked for ten years in the Customs Administration in various positions.
