The legal deadline for submitting income tax returns for the year 2025 and paying the tax due on them ends on Sunday.
The Income and Sales Tax Department called on taxpayers to take advantage of the remaining days to submit their returns and pay the dues, in order to avoid the fines stipulated in the law, which include an additional tax for not submitting the return, and a fine of 4% of the value of the tax due for each week of delay or any part thereof.
The department announced that all its directorates and centers throughout the Kingdom will be open on Saturday, to enable taxpayers to submit returns and pay the tax electronically, given the coincidence of the last legal date for an official holiday, which requires an extension to the first working day after that in accordance with the provisions of Article (75) of the Income Tax Law.
The department explained that the Saturday shift aims to give taxpayers who have not completed the procedures for submitting returns or paying dues the opportunity to ensure compliance with the legal period and avoid fines and financial additions resulting from the delay.
