In order to obtain a driving license at a driving school, it will now be necessary to obtain a lower secondary education, i.e. to have completed primary school or the fourth year of an eight-year grammar school. The applicant will have to provide proof of education to the driving school.
He will also be able to bring any high school certificate, university diploma or confirmation of attendance at a high school or university. This follows from the amendment to the Act on Road Traffic, which was approved by the members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic at the beginning of June. The adjustment will take effect from September.
However, the legislative change will also regulate the implementation of the training itself. According to the new rules, students in the driving school will first have to pass theoretical tests. Only then will they be able to participate in practical training. However, this part of the amended law will not come into effect until next September.
“The proposal assumes that through the electronic service introduced for this purpose it will be possible to register for a theory test, apply for a driver’s license and register the person sitting in the passenger seat next to the driver,” the Ministry of the Interior, which enforced the change, pointed out in the material.
