Police carried out drink-driving checks in Garnich and Clemency on Tuesday, inspecting nearly 600 motorists. Their documents were also verified, and several offences were recorded.
On Tuesday 21 April, police conducted the drink-driving checks at the request of the public prosecutor’s office. In total, 595 drivers were breathalysed. The test came back positive in four cases. Two penalty notices were drawn up, and fines were issued in the other two cases.

In addition to alcohol-related offences, police also recorded six offences relating to vehicle documents. These included an expired roadworthiness certificate in four cases, a missing valid registration certificate, and an expired tax vignette.
Two other motorists were not in possession of a valid driving licence. In one of these cases, the driver’s licence had previously been revoked, leading to the seizure of the vehicle. A penalty notice was also drawn up against that individual.
