Announcing the “national tripartite” before May 1st, even though “déi Kris, déi mer lo hunn, eigentlech nach keng richteg Kris ass” and “déi richteg Kris riskéiert, nach bevirzestoen”, seems at first glance like a clever political decision by CSV Prime Minister Luc Frieden. Instead of holding it at the beginning of June, it would be held on May 12th, a week before his State of the Nation speech in the Chamber of Deputies. However, this assumes that the government and social partners can agree on a joint agreement within a week. It doesn’t look like that at the moment.
