
The Dominica Council on Ageing Inc. (DCOA Inc.) has announced the passing of the nation’s oldest known centenarian, Mr. Asher Timothy of Marigot, at the age of 108.
In a statement, the DCOA said Mr. Timothy, who had recently been relocated to the Dominica Infirmary, was widely regarded as a symbol of resilience and longevity.
His life reflected remarkable strength, perseverance, and a deep connection to the rich heritage of Dominica’s older population, continued the statement.
The group expressed sadness at his passing while also honoring “his extraordinary life and legacy.”
The organization joins the community of Marigot and the wider Dominican public in mourning his death and celebrating his long and impactful life.
