Authorities preliminarily confirmed the identity of one of the victims of the violent incident that occurred on Tuesday night in the community of Panamá, in the municipality of Trujillo, Colón.
The deceased was identified as Darixa Alemán Mejíaaccording to information validated by sources in the area, while we continue to wait for an official report detailing the circumstances of the event.
The police chief of Trujillo, Commissioner Rojas, reported that the violent incident occurred when the victim was leaving a grocery store in the village of Panama. “Yes, she was leaving a grocery store, she passed an individual, without saying a word, then she shot him and took his life,” he explained when confirming the preliminary version of the case from the scene.
The official ruled out that it was a confrontation between criminal gangs, as had initially been speculated. “It was stated that it was a confrontation between negative gangs. That is negative and it is a personal matter due to personal enmities,” he stated.
In addition, he confirmed that the victim has already been identified as Gloria. Darixa Alemán Mejíawhile the authorities continue to wait for the official report from the Public Ministry to deepen the investigations.
It is expected that in the next few hours the National Police will provide a more extensive report on what happened, while investigations are carried out to clarify this new act of violence that has generated concern among the residents of the area.
