Civil service: recruitment competition for state controllers

By an official decision from the Head of Government, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, Tunisia is launching a major external competition to strengthen the ranks of its control body. The details of this procedure, which aims to recruit deputy state controllers, were published in the latest issue of the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic, dated May 5, 2026.

    An opportunity for high graduates

The Tunisian administration targets high-level profiles to meet the requirements of the role. This competition is primarily aimed at holders of a Doctorate or Master’s degree in strategic disciplines such as law, economics, management or accounting.

However, particular attention is paid to accounting review professionals. For the latter, access to the competition is conditional on solid practical experience. They must in fact have a minimum seniority of three years of internship or work within an accounting firm duly registered with the Order of Chartered Accountants of Tunisia.

    A rigorous selection process

The selection of future executives of the Presidency of the Government is organized in two stages. Firstly, a commission carefully examines the application files to evaluate academic and professional career paths. Following this pre-selection phase, the selected candidates are invited for an oral test. This interview before the jury is crucial since, according to the regulations, it benefits from a coefficient of two, compared to a coefficient of one for the examination of the file.

    Precise application procedures

The application submission process has been simplified into two distinct stages. During initial registration, the applicant must provide standard identity documents and diplomas, accompanied by an exhaustive curriculum vitae detailing his research work and publications. An exemption from the age limit is also provided for candidates who can prove previous civil service or active registration with an employment office.

It is only once success has been confirmed that candidates must complete their file with the required administrative documents, namely a birth certificate, a criminal record (bulletin no. 3) and a medical certificate attesting to their physical and mental fitness, all dating from less than three months ago.

    How to apply?

Interested candidates must act promptly upon the official opening of the competition. Files can be sent by registered post or submitted directly to the Central Order Office of the Presidency of the Government, located on Place de la Kasbah in Tunis. The exact number of open positions as well as the submission deadline will be specified very soon by an additional order.
