Former Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Bülent Arınç, attended the Suriçi Istanbul Meetings. Speaking in the program, Arınç said about his criticism of the government’s policies: “I am not an oppositionist, but I use my right to criticize, I have the right to do so. I am the owner of this house.”
Regarding the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, Arınç said, “As much as Trump loves life, they (Iranians) love death as much. It is a struggle between those who love life and those who love death.”

Touching on the judiciary issue, Arınç said, “There was a juristocracy, that is, a rule of judges. The old Constitutional Court was a blessing to us. In the past, when a lawsuit was filed, we knew what the outcome would be. They filed a lawsuit accordingly.”
‘MR. TAYYIP IS APPROACHING CAUTIOUSLY’
Arınç Törsüz also made evaluations about the Türkiye process and said:
I support this process. Mr. Tayyip approaches cautiously. Because of the betrayal of the organization in the past. The perception that the organization cannot be trusted is still strong. The evacuation of the caves has still not been realized. It may be late but it needs to be resolved

Referring to the debates about whether the 11th President Abdullah Gül will be a Presidential candidate again, Arınç said, “Abdullah Gül has no intention of being a Presidential candidate again. Friends like Haşim Kılıç and Hüseyin Çelik are holding ‘Democracy Meetings’, they have no intention of establishing a party. Abdullah Bey is not involved in these affairs.”
