China’s Top Party School Showcases Governance Model and Anti-Corruption Drive to International Media

Speaking under the theme “Stories of the Communist Party of China in the New Era,” Professor Xie described the institution as both the country’s premier leadership academy and a high-level policy research center, playing a key role in training officials and contributing to national policymaking.
According to Xie, the Central Party School is part of a nationwide network of more than 3,000 party schools employing around 100,000 staff. Each year, it provides in-person training to 20,000–30,000 mid- and senior-level officials, while also reaching millions through digital education platforms. He noted that many of China’s current national leaders are alumni of the institution.
Addressing China’s political structure, Xie said the country operates under a system featuring a governing party alongside participating parties, rather than a traditional government-opposition model. He stressed that the Communist Party of China Central Committee serves as the central decision-making authority, with state institutions implementing policies coordinated through that framework.

Professor Xie also highlighted the Party’s anti-corruption campaign, launched after the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, describing it as a major effort to strengthen internal discipline and public confidence. He said that more than 900 provincial- and ministerial-level officials managed by the central authorities have been investigated and disciplined over the past decade, underscoring the campaign’s broad scope.
