The new value of $0.76 for general users and $0.38 for preferential users is established in the third reform of the ordinance that regulates the cost of the fare for the air-suspended public transportation system of the city of Guayaquil.
The fare includes the cost of the ticket for the canton’s feeder bus system. Duran.
Councilor Emily Vera reiterated that this is a contractual obligation determined in the document signed in September 2017in a past administration.
For her part, councilor Ana Chóez said that it is pertinent to evaluate, after the increase, how it can be connected with the Metrovia System this transportation mechanism. At this point, Chóez abstained from the vote.
Councilor Blanca López said that they are not numbers imposed by the Municipality, the Council or the ATM. He reiterated that there is a dialogue with taxi drivers in Durán to promote the system. “The Aerovía was not well planned at the time,” he indicated.

Other approvals of the Cantonal Council
During the session, the draft ordinance that regulates the municipal overnight stay rate and the resolution for the operation of the school corridorswhich is promoted by the Cantonal Cleaning Directorate.
The corridors will be implemented until June 21 on Francisco Campos streets between Noguchi and Lorenzo de Garaicoa, Benalcázar between Noguchi and Lorenzo de Garaicoa and Calixto Romero between Noguchi and Lavayen.
The schedule will be 09:00 to 18:00.
The councilor Fabián Espín He said that with this type of initiatives, the aim is to protect the order of the city and create spaces for merchants to take money to their homes. “Order and guarantee the right to work for merchants,” he mentioned.
