During an intervention with media personality Aya Lotfy on the Cairo News Channel, Gabr explained that Trump continues to talk about the existence of indirect messages and communications between Washington and Tehran, despite the Iranian side’s repeated denials of the existence of such channels or discussions.
Trump does not mind meeting the Iranian leader
The Cairo News correspondent indicated that the American President expressed openness to the idea of holding a meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei, explaining that Trump’s statements reflect his lack of reservations regarding dialogue with various parties if that contributes to achieving political understandings or settlements to the existing crises.
He added that Trump’s talk about the possibility of holding such a meeting in the future is linked to the possibility of making progress in the negotiations and reaching an agreement between the United States and Iran, paving the way for a new phase of direct communication between the two parties.
