The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has issued accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama and former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, claiming that they run a “structured criminal organization” within the Albanian government.
Berisha also claims that Prime Minister Rama is not only preparing Balluk’s departure from Albania, but is also considering the possibility of him leaving the country to seek asylum.
He called on Albania’s partner countries not to accept any request for political asylum from senior Albanian officials.
“He dealt with Lubi Balluku’s asylum, that is the truth. The other truth is that the files examined during this period prove that Lubi Balluku and Edi Rama are co-chairmen not of a structured criminal group, but of a structured criminal organization in the Albanian government. But is Rama also thinking about his head to leave? Without a doubt, yes, he is thinking and I am following him and the opposition is ready and calls on the countries with which Albania has relations to reject any request for political asylum of any Albanian government or politician, categorically to Prime Minister Rama and his ministers”, said the leader of the DP in a conference with journalists.
