At least three people were killed in a massive drone attack launched by Ukrainian forces against the Moscow region overnight, local authorities reported.
According to the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, a man died in the hospital, whose wife died hours earlier in the Ukrainian attack on the building where the couple lived.
Vorobiov added that the couple’s 15-year-old daughter was injured and is in a hospital.
The third fatality is an elderly man, who was also at home at the time of the attack, which affected at least eleven towns in the Moscow region, according to authorities previously reported.
The massive attack, which takes place on the third and main day of legislative elections in Russia, also forced the postponement or cancellation of almost 450 flights at the Russian capital’s airports.
Zelensky confirms attacks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this Sunday hits against key facilities of the Russian oil industry and a logistics center, which, he said, represents billions of dollars less for the Kremlin’s war machine.
“One of the key facilities of the Russian oil industry and a logistics center of the aggressor were hit. This represents billions of dollars with which the war machine is maintained,” Zelensky said in his X account.
The president added that various systems such as Fp-1, RZ-100, MICH.2000, Palianitisia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo and Pelican were used in the attack.
