As a result of Suzy Badoyan’s persistent efforts, the case of rape of minor girls in Vedi received not only a public response, but also the competent authorities were forced to take actions, during which they continue to “shoot themselves in the foot”.
I don’t have high expectations from the justice system for a long time, but I am sure that the professional lawyers involved in the case will continue to talk about the disgrace of the system.
But this post is dedicated to the woman who justifies the inaction of the body that did not properly investigate the case of rape of a minor girl. more precisely, the phenomenon when a person takes that “work” or “moral” burden not on behalf of the state body, but on his own behalf.
I don’t know who or how convinced the press officer to publish this text condemning a minor and vulnerable victim. I am not sure if the author knows that the questioning of a minor and ALL investigative actions must be carried out in the presence of a psychologist, especially if the child has mental development problems (Article 212 of the Criminal Code).
This is not only to keep the child as safe as possible from further trauma, but to provide the child with such a psychological environment that the child will give a credible testimony.
In other words, if a vulnerable child who is apparently a victim of violence gives conflicting and uncertain testimony, that is the problem of the investigative body, not the child.
And therefore, I am not sure that the author of the thoughts is aware of the criteria for investigating crimes against sexual integrity. under what threshold of suspicion of a crime, what diligence should the state show in discovering it and what amount of evidence is sufficient to charge a person and confirm that charge.
I also don’t know how informed the author is about the statistics of similar crimes. how often vulnerable children themselves become victims of sexual abuse because they “won’t understand what’s going on”.
But I know one thing that we suffer as much from criminals as from those who commit that crime, be it consciously or unconsciously.”
