Benson won gold, silver and bronze at the European Championships in Croatia in October 2025. At the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, she followed up with three more medals.
In February 2025, Ebba Årsjö won two World Cup gold medals in slalom and giant slalom. She also won the overall World Cup after 17 victories.
Årsjö then dominated the Paralympics in Italy, where she won three golds and one bronze, but her achievements there do not count towards the awards at the gala. The nomination period is between November 2024 and October 2025.
Cross-country skier Zebastian Modin received the Male Athlete of the Year award after winning the overall World Cup, a World Cup gold and a World Cup bronze.
