In honor of National Turkmen Horse Day, the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan hosted a festive exhibition, “Paradise Horses – the Glory and Pride of the Turkmen People.”
The exhibition features ancient terracotta horse figurines discovered during archaeological excavations in Turkmenistan, according to the museum’s website.
Visitors can also see rare photographs from the museum’s collections depicting racehorses in full traditional tack, as well as paintings by renowned artists on this theme.
In the improvised yurt (“ak oy”), visitors can see various types of carpets, horse capes decorated with tassels and fringe, carpet saddles, and horse accessories such as a breastplate, whip, and bridle.
Here you can also see several pieces of jewelry that glorify the Turkmen Ahal-Teke horses and symbolize the progress of the era.
The exhibition was opened by Dovlet Rejepov, Head of the Cultural and Educational Department. The floor was then given to the guests. Speaking at the opening ceremony were People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Suhanberdy Orazberdyev, department editor of the newspaper “Watan” Ogultach Oraztaganova, and Ayjemal Bayramova, Head of the Library Department of the Aba Annayev International Equestrian Academy in Arkadag.
