SAN MARINO – VANCOUVER – The 76th edition of the FIFA Congress was held in Vancouver (Canada) on April 30th. They were present for the occasion delegates from all affiliated federationsgathered to discuss the main challenges and strategies for the future of football. Representing the San Marino Football Federation were the President Marco TuraThe General Secretary Luigi Zafferani and the Vice President Simone Grana. The event was presented by Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA. The number one in world football – who has officially relaunched his candidacy for the 2027 elections – celebrated the successes of the decade and the record investments especially regarding the development of youth and women’s football. During the event there was naturally talk about the big summer event: the upcoming World Cup which will be played between Canada, the United States and Mexico.
The Congress was also for the FSGC a useful moment to establish new relationships and strengthen existing ones. In this regard, the San Marino delegation met with that of Bangladesh, a few days after the formalization of the friendly match to be held on 5 June. The match at the San Marino Stadium will in fact be the first official match for the Titans with a selection from the Asian Confederation (AFC).
