New York/Cuban artist Alexis Mendoza presents his book Fragilea work that uses materiality, form and visual narrative to reflect on the vulnerabilities of contemporary society and the possibilities of building a more just and sustainable future.
The publication proposes a view that transcends the strictly artistic field to address issues such as education, social equity, environmental sustainability and the importance of strengthening community networks. From that perspective, Fragile It is presented both as a reflection on the challenges of the present and as an invitation to seek collective and lasting solutions.
Mendoza, a visual artist of Cuban origin based in New York, has developed a career linked to contemporary creation, writing and reflection on the relationships between art, identity and society.
The presentation will take place at the Loisaida Center, a cultural institution in the Lower East Side of Manhattan dedicated to promoting artistic creation, community participation and Latin American cultural expressions.
