Doha – Al Raya:
Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) announced the temporary suspension of Lusail tram services, starting from Friday, June 26, until Sunday, July 5, in order to carry out important development and improvement works along the network.
The implementation of this temporary suspension of the tram service comes in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, as part of Rail’s ongoing efforts to enhance the services provided to passengers and improve the performance of the tram network.
During the period of service suspension, alternative buses will operate between Legtaifiya and Tarfa-South stations, to maintain continuity of services provided to passengers. MetroExpress and Metrolink services will continue to operate as usual, without any changes to their schedules. A new route bearing the number M154 will be launched within the Metrolink service, to cover this area and support the continuity of services.
It is scheduled to continue to suspend service in the above-ground sections of the network after the end of the first phase of development work, in order to carry out comprehensive maintenance work that will enable Rail to increase operational efficiency and improve the service provided to the public, while MetroExpress and Metrolink services will continue to be provided, to continue covering the area and enhancing its connection to the rest of the network.
Rail advised its customers, who are tram users, to review the guide maps displayed at the stations to know the routes and times of alternative bus service frequencies and the nearest boarding points, as well as to follow the social media channels affiliated with the metro and tram service account or contact its call center through the number (105), to obtain all information and service updates.
