The Speaker of the Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, affirmed that the secret of Jordan’s resilience and strength, and its ability to overcome the challenges of the region and the region since its founding, is divine providence, the wise Hashemite leadership, the unity of its people, the strength of its national constitutional institutions, and the strength of its armed forces and security services. Which enabled him to maintain his security and stability.
He said during a special interview within the “Nashama Al-Watan” program, prepared by the Military Media Center and broadcast on Jordanian television, on the occasion of the 27th Royal Sitting Day, the anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt, and Army Day, that the national occasions that Jordanians celebrate embody the journey of a homeland built on sacrifices, achievements, and rallying around the Hashemite leadership.
Al-Fayez added, “On the occasion of the Royal Sitting Day, we say to His Majesty King Abdullah II, Happy New Year, and Jordan is fine, and the Hashemite family is fine, and the good and authentic Jordanian people are fine,” stressing that Jordan is fine as long as His Majesty the King is fine.
He pointed out that these cherished national occasions constitute an opportunity to recall bright moments in Jordan’s history and its role in serving the issues of its Arab and Islamic nation, indicating that Jordan has always been a land and homeland for martyrs and sacrifices, and that the Islamic conquests began from its land after the Battle of Yarmouk, which constituted a turning point in Islamic history. Al-Fayez explained that Jordan has always been an integral part of its Arab nation, and a defender of its just causes. “If we look at the establishment of the Jordanian state in 1921 and the arrival of His Majesty the late King Abdullah I to the land of Jordan, we find that the Syrian revolution of 1926, and the Palestinian revolution of 1936, members of the Jordanian clans and tribes participated in it and made sacrifices and martyrs.”
He pointed out that “God endowed Jordan with Hashemite leadership that has religious, historical, political legitimacy and legitimacy of achievement, and there was a solid social contract between it and the Jordanians. Since the founding King Abdullah I, the Jordanian clans and tribes have welcomed His Majesty, and they have also rallied around His Majesty King the Builder, Hussein bin Talal, may God have mercy on him. Today, the people of Jordan stand behind His Majesty the strengthened King Abdullah II, may God protect him,” indicating that Jordan has been blessed by God with Hashemite leadership. “It protected him and enabled him to face many challenges since 1921.”
Al-Fayez went on to say: “I do not want to delve too deeply into history, but from 1921 until today the Jordanians have faced great challenges, and each time our Hashemite kings led us to safety with their wisdom and closeness to the Jordanian people. The Hashemite kings are close to the pulse of the street, close to their people, and among their qualities is tolerance and forgiveness when they are able.”
He added: “If we look at history, how many people tried to conspire against our Hashemite kings and seek to overthrow the ruling regime, but the tolerance of the Hashemites has always been present, and this tolerance is one of the reasons for Jordan’s resilience and the strength of the Jordanian state.”
Al-Fayez noted that the history of the modern Jordanian state is an extension of an ancient national and national heritage, stressing that the values of redemption, belonging, and loyalty to the homeland and the nation formed basic pillars in the journey of the Jordanian state.
Al-Fayez stressed that Jordan’s strength and stability have always been linked to the strength of the relationship between the Hashemite leadership and the Jordanian people, in addition to the role of the security services and our armed forces – the Mustafa Arab Army, as King Abdullah I called it, in protecting the homeland and preserving its security and stability.
He reiterated that the Kingdom was able to overcome the various crises and challenges that the region witnessed thanks to the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership, the strength of state institutions, the awareness of Jordanians, and the unity of their internal front.
Al-Fayez stated that His Majesty King Abdullah The second led the Kingdom during the past decades amid complex regional and international circumstances, starting with the repercussions of wars and crises in the region, through the global financial crisis, the Arab Spring, and the Corona pandemic, all the way to the current developments, with His Majesty placing the preservation of the Kingdom’s political, economic, and social security at the top of his priorities.
He pointed out that His Majesty enjoys a prominent position and wide respect on the international scene, and His Majesty’s efforts have contributed to strengthening Jordan’s regional and international presence and defending Arab issues, most notably the Palestinian issue.
Regarding national affairs, Al-Fayez stressed that the challenges facing us due to what is happening in the region require greater national cohesion, and rallying around the leadership of His Majesty the King to confront them, stressing that the unity of Jordanians and the strength of state institutions have always been the basic pillar in protecting the homeland and enhancing its stability.
The Speaker of the Senate also affirmed that the good, authentic Jordanian people are another factor in the nation’s stability, adding, “There are some quarrels on social media, but the Jordanian people are an authentic people, as His Majesty the King said in his speech on Independence Day (an authentic people, a people who always rally around the leadership, a people who hold their heads up).”
He referred to the wedding of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, and the joy it manifested that spread throughout every Jordanian home, saying that this joy, “even if it indicates anything, indicates the extent of the strong and solid bond between the Jordanian people and the Hashemite leadership, and the depth of the relationship between His Majesty the King and His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II and the Jordanian people. When His Highness goes out in an open car among hundreds of thousands of people celebrating at this wedding, this indicates “On the people’s love for our Hashemite leadership.”
Al-Fayez added: “I have served with His Majesty King Abdullah II since 1993, and I confirm here that His Majesty the King always has his heart in his people, and always communicates with his people. He is a courageous and fearless king who enjoys the respect and love of world leaders, as well as His Majesty King Hussein before him, may God have mercy on him, who had an international presence and great respect from all world leaders. This is the secret of Jordan’s resilience, strength and ability to face challenges, the basis of which is the Hashemite leadership.” “And the Jordanian people, our armed forces, and our security services.”
He continued: “To confront our current challenges, everyone must rally around the Hashemite leadership, and we must be united, with the heart of one man, and everyone must be one hand, because the challenges facing Jordan are still the most difficult, as there is the Zionist danger and the Iranian danger.”
Al-Fayez said, “Jordan, because of its geopolitical location, is located in a stormy environment, and we must always be behind His Majesty the King, supporting and advocating for His Majesty. We are the closest to Palestine, surrounded by unstable countries and a fiery ocean. Jordan is also being targeted today by the Zionist threat and the annexation of the West Bank. All of these challenges call on us to stand united behind His Majesty the King to face these difficult circumstances.”
The Speaker of the Senate said, “His Majesty the King’s primary concern has always been to maintain Jordanian political, economic, and social security. When His Majesty the King goes to European countries, the United States, China, Japan, and all countries, he always seeks to preserve Jordanian political, economic, and social security.”
Regarding the process of comprehensive reform and the path of political modernization, Al-Fayez explained that His Majesty the King’s vision is based on achieving a party parliament and effective parliamentary governments, stressing the importance of developing party work and enhancing its presence in society through realistic programs that touch the needs of citizens and provide solutions to economic and social challenges.
He called for expanding youth participation in political and public life as they are the pillar of the future, noting that empowering them economically and providing them with job opportunities constitute an essential gateway to enhancing their participation in partisan and political work and advancing national development.
On the economic side, Al-Fayez stressed that the Jordanian economy has shown an ability to withstand despite regional and international challenges, pointing out the importance of continuing to implement major national projects, in the transportation, water and infrastructure sectors, which will stimulate economic growth, provide job opportunities and improve the standard of living of citizens.
He added: “The strategic projects that the state is working to implement will contribute to creating thousands of job opportunities in the coming years and enhancing the comprehensive development process.”
