The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, after visiting Kosovo, continued his tour in Belgrade. He spoke about the enlargement process, saying that the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is essential.
He made the statements at the joint press conference after the meeting he had with the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vucic.
“Enlargement is based on building trust. The way forward is difficult, but the path is clear. We must focus on 3 main priorities: fostering good neighborly relations and regional cooperation. They are essential for both security and economic prosperity. The Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the full implementation of the Ohrid agreement are critical in this regard; ‘compliance with the policies and values of the European Union, in particular with our Common Foreign Policy and Security. These are not the only principles we support. They are the very foundation of the European project and our partnership with Serbia,” declared Costa.
