Today, the Public Prosecutor at the Bir Murad Rais Court issued a press statement, in accordance with the provisions of Article 19 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in which he announced to public opinion a case related to violent robbery using a knife.
The statement stated that, based on a complaint filed by a number of shop owners in the municipality of Bir Khadem with the National Gendarmerie, regarding their daily income being robbed in front of the visitors of their shops, and using a white weapon that the perpetrator was carrying, these incidents that occurred in one day and consecutively were recorded.
Video clips from the stores’ surveillance cameras were also circulated on social media, showing the person named Saeedani Suhail entering the victims’ stores carrying a large knife and threatening the victims for the purpose of robbing them of their money and assaulting them.
The statement added that immediately after notification of these facts, an urgent investigation was opened and the perpetrator was arrested, as he was arrested by members of the National Gendarmerie in Bir Khadem immediately after committing the acts.
On June 21, 2026, the suspect was brought before the Republic Prosecutor’s Office, to be referred according to the immediate appearance procedures for trial on charges of misdemeanor robbery with violence in the event of a recidivism, misdemeanor assault and intentional wounding using a knife, and misdemeanor threat to kill, in accordance with Articles 350 bis, 54 bis 3, 266, 284, and 285 of the Penal Code.
After the accused appeared before the court, it was decided to postpone the case to the session of June 28, 2026, with an order to place him in detention.
