Held in Porto Montenegro for the fourth year in a row, the Adria Future Summit once again confirmed its status as the most important regional event that gathers global leaders from the world of politics and business.
This year’s three-day edition, with more than 1,200 participants from four continents, affirmed its role as a key platform where concrete agreements are made and the future of the region is shaped. The summit is organized by Sustineri Partners, in partnership with the Government of Montenegro and under the patronage of the President of Montenegro.
Among the participants were representatives of leading global investors, decision makers and young regional leaders, who participated equally in all program segments.
“Adria Future Summit has proven that it is not only a platform for dialogue, it is a place where concrete agreements for the future of the region are created. By directing business development, the Summit has become an indispensable point in the calendars of the most influential global companies and financial institutions, including Eagle Hills, Masdar, the American Export-Import Bank (EXIM), Monterock, Google and many others,” said Biljana Braithwaite, founder and CEO of Sustineri Partners and founder of Adria Future Summit.
Strategic partnership at the highest level
Companies and institutions active in the region sent their highest representatives, confirming the importance of the Summit as a unique platform that connects the European Union and the wider global market. Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić and John Jovanović, president and chairman of the American Export-Import Bank (EXIM), emphasized the strengthening of the American presence at a time when Montenegro is leading the EU accession process and presiding over the Berlin process in 2026. Mohamed Alabbar, the founder and president of Eagle Hills, presented the vision of Montenegro and the Adriatic region as key winners of the new phase of growth and investments driven by artificial intelligence.
From ideas to concrete investments
The energy segment of the Summit connected strategic policies and concrete investment projects. In cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Montenegro and the Secretariat of the Energy Community, with the support of GIZ, the Ministerial Energy Forum was held in parallel with the Summit. This was followed by the Dialogue on Energy Investments, which brought together ministers, international investors and financial institutions in order to define priority projects and the next steps of implementation. As a concrete result, a joint venture (50/50) was announced between Masdar and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), based in Nikšić, aimed at the development of renewable energy sources for export to the Western Balkans and southern Europe.
Sveti Stefan is back on the world map of luxury
The re-opening of one of the most recognizable symbols of Montenegrin tourism was also confirmed at the Summit. Alfredo Longo, executive director of Monterock International, announced that Sveti Stefan and Vila Miločer will welcome guests again this season. Villa Miločer opens its doors on May 21, the day marking 20 years of the restoration of independence of Montenegro, while the island of Sveti Stefan will be opened in phases from June. The complex will unite the prestigious brands Aman, Nammos and Zuma – a unique offer on a global level.
Montenegro as a new address for monetary dialogue
For the first time, the governors of the central banks of Slovenia, Estonia and Montenegro met at this Summit to discuss the future of money in digital Europe. This session additionally confirmed the importance of Montenegro as a place where key European discussions are held, including the topics of the digital euro and digital currencies of central banks.
Artificial intelligence and innovation as a driver of development
The technological program of the Summit highlighted the transformation of the region from an exporter of services to a creator of innovative products. Sovereign AI capabilities are recognized as a key development theme of the next decade: creating and owning your own innovations. Through the Adria Future Hackathon and the Adria ScaleUp initiative, startup teams and investment-ready projects are supported, thus positioning AI and innovation as a continuous regional development ecosystem. The program included the topics of digital infrastructure, tourism and real estate, sustainable finance, health, the labor market and the rule of law.
The Adria Future Summit will return to Montenegro in 2027.
