Police were called to Erpeldange-sur-Sûre late on Sunday evening after reports of shots being fired, eventually tracking down a suspect in an Ettelbruck restaurant with a blank pistol, ammunition, and two folding knives.
Police were alerted late on Sunday evening to reports that several shots had been heard in Erpeldange-sur-Sûre.
A patrol made its way to the scene immediately. After further investigation, officers managed to locate a suspicious person in an establishment in Ettelbruck.
A search of the suspect’s backpack revealed a blank pistol, ammunition for the weapon, and two folding knives.
On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the man was subsequently taken to a closed psychiatric facility.
