Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 2, 2026 – Lennox Nathaniel Greaves of Molineaux, St. Kitts, was sentenced in connection with the death of Dr. Simoneth Williams of St. Peter’s, St. Kitts, following a fatal traffic incident that occurred on December 20th, 2024.
Mr. Greaves previously entered a guilty plea to the offence of Causing Death by Careless Driving on March 6th, 2026.
The sentencing was delivered on May 27th, 2026, by the High Court of St. Kitts and Nevis, with His Lordship Justice Patrick Thompson Jr. presiding.
As part of the court’s ruling, Mr. Greaves was ordered to pay compensation in the amount of one hundred thousand Eastern Caribbean dollars (EC$100,000) to the family of the deceased. Additionally, his driver’s licence has been revoked until January 1st, 2027.
The court also imposed a suspended prison sentence of twelve months. In the event that Mr. Greaves commits another offence during the suspension period, he will be required to serve six months’ imprisonment.
Dr. Williams was struck by a vehicle driven by Mr. Greaves while walking along the Island Main Road in the New Road area.
The collision reportedly occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. and midnight. Dr. Williams was subsequently transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was severe cranioencephalic trauma sustained as a result of the impact.
