Yanela Liliana M. was detained in Ibarra, province of Imbabura, in the context of a previous investigation for the alleged crime of involuntary disappearance of José Leopoldo Reinoso Paredeswho was reported missing on February 9, 2026, reported the State Attorney General’s Office.
That entity indicated, on its social networks, that it led an operation and during the raid, carried out early this Thursday, April 30with police personnel, evidence related to the case was raised.
The man, of 46 yearswas dedicated to taxi driving on a mobile application. He would have disappeared around 10:00 p.m. from the La Ecuatoriana sector, in the south of the capital. For now his whereabouts are unknown.
Meanwhile, the vehicle was found in the city of Basin with apparent alterations on the license plate, the television channel reported RTU.
The legal situation of the suspect, the Prosecutor’s Office explained, will be resolved in a charging hearing which will take place in the South Judicial Complex, in Quito. (YO)
