In Russia, an IT specialist with Russian and Belgian passports was sentenced to 16 years in prison for transferring money to his ex-girlfriend in Ukraine, “Dialog” writes.
The Russian court has sentenced 48-year-old IT specialist Mihail Loshchin, who has dual Russian and Belgian citizenship, to 16 years in a colony under strict regime. He was found guilty of “treason”.
Loshchin was detained in the summer of 2025 when he came to Russia to visit his sick father. According to FSB employees, during the investigation, they found money transfers from 2023 and correspondence with an ex-girlfriend in Ukraine on her phone. Russian authorities qualified these transfers as foreign aid aimed at Russian security.
The defense says that torture methods may have been used against the accused and called the punishment “Stalinist”.
