According to Ekhtaz Online, quoted by Tabnak, the head of the Iran Chamber of Commerce Customs Commission announced the re-entry of goods from the southern borders and the partial resolution of trade disturbances. According to him, the UAE has also allowed the stopped goods to be transferred to the country, and if the recent agreements are fully implemented, the market will face an increase in supply and a decrease in prices.
Mohammadreza Farooqi, the head of the customs commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, announced a new opening in the import route and said that with the removal of part of the maritime and economic restrictions, the process of providing goods needed by the people is being resumed.
He explained in an interview with Tabnak Egami that in the past months there have been serious disturbances in the routes leading to the southern borders, but now the government and customs are trying to make the entry of goods into the country faster by using all the capacities and facilities.
Referring to the recent agreements, Farooqi said: If the parties adhere to the provisions of this agreement, the country’s trade is expected to return to the conditions before these disturbances. According to him, the result of this trend can be an increase in the supply of goods in the market and ultimately a decrease in prices.
The UAE allowed the movement of the suspended goods
The head of the Customs Commission of the Chamber of Commerce further mentioned the status of trade exchanges with the UAE and said that the country has allowed the goods that remained there due to the suspension of commercial activities to be transferred to Iran. He emphasized that some of the Iranian goods have been stopped in the UAE and they should return to the country as soon as possible by managing the costs of maintenance and demurrage.
Disturbances in sea routes are reduced
Farooqi also mentioned that in the past, the transfer of goods was accompanied by many problems, and even the transportation of some cargoes by barge was done with difficulty. However, he expressed hope that with the new openings, trade routes will be restored quickly and the process of supplying goods will be smoother.
Hope to reduce prices in the market
According to this trade union official, increasing the entry of goods into the country can lead to more abundance in the market and this issue will ultimately reduce the price pressure.
