After a hot and busy day, the sky above Sarajevo tonight presented a scene that stopped everyday life for a moment and reminded us of the beauty that we often forget to notice.
Above the city skyline, just above the hills surrounding Sarajevo, a thin crescent of the new moon appeared, with a bright star shining next to it, creating a scene that made many citizens stop, look up and reach for their phones to capture the moment.
At a time when we are overwhelmed with news, obligations and worries, nature reminds us from time to time that the most beautiful scenes are often the simplest ones. The silence of the summer evening, the gentle twilight and the harmony of the heavenly bodies created an almost unreal picture above the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Photos taken by citizens soon flooded social networks, and many described the scene as a symbol of hope, peace and beauty that unites us regardless of all differences and everyday challenges.
Tonight, at least for a few moments, Sarajevo looked up to the sky. And it reciprocated with a scene that reminds us that the most beautiful things often cannot be bought or planned – it is enough to notice them.
As the new moon slowly sank towards the horizon, the feeling remained that we had witnessed something special: short, fleeting, but beautiful enough to be remembered for a long time.
